Glass Orientation – When determining which piece of glass goes to the outside of a Double Glazed Unit, the coloured or obscure glass is on the outside of unit (surface 1 & 2), the clear or LOW E glass is on the inside (surface 3 & 4).
The higher up the following list the glass is, the more priority to the outside:
- Reflective (eg. stopsol)
- Grey Tint
- Bronze Tint
- Green Tint
- Etchlite
- Translucent Laminate
- Clear Laminate
- Spotswood
- Cathedral
- Satinlite
- Mistlite
- Clear
- Low E (low E side goes to surface 3)
